By day I work as an art director, but I like to be creative off the clock as well. Photography is a great excuse to get out of a chair and go looking for things worth seeing. My favorite part of the practice is the habit of careful observation that it cultivates. When I’m out with a camera, I find myself looking more carefully at things instead of walking on past without a second thought for beautiful things hidden in plain sight. I won’t pretend to be a master of the craft, but I do enjoy hunting for those moments that make me want to pause, be quiet, and carefully observe.
